There’s a starting debut for Chelsea Academy player Charlotte Fleming today as Chelsea Women take on Lewes at The Dripping Pan, following a pitch inspection; the next installment of manager Emma Hayes’ least favourite tournament, the Conti Cup.

Another academy player, Lexi Lloyd-Smith, is on the bench.

With Carly Telford between the sticks, the team also includes: Bright, Ingle, Carter, Kirby, Eriksson, Mjelde, Cooper, Cuthbert and Bachmann.

The game comes as the latest live television broadcast selections for the Barclays FA Women’s Super League are announced, with two of the Blues’ next four league fixtures chosen for transmission by BT Sport.

Birmingham City away on Sunday November 24 will now kick off at 2.45pm and be live on BT Sport, while Manchester City’s visit to Kingsmeadow on Sunday December 8 will also be on the telly, kicking off at an earlier-than-planned time of noon.

The Blues currently sit on top of the league table.

Today’s opponents, Lewes, are currently sixth in the FA Women’s Championship after seven league games. Before today, the Rooks had yet to record a Continental Tyres League Cup victory.
