Chelsea keeper Carly Telford is among the Lionesses heading for the sun in Qatar on a week-long international training camp.

She sets off to Manchester on Monday next week before flying out to the Aspire Academy in Doha the following day. There the women will continue their preparation for the four-team SheBelieves Cup in the United States next month and the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France this summer.

Head coach Phil Neville has named a 28-player squad with a return for the 135-cap Chelsea captain Karen Carney as well as Manchester City’s Demi Stokes following a lengthy injury lay-off and Reading’s Jade Moore.

Also included in the training trip are Chelsea defenders Hannah Blundell, who scored against Everton on Sunday, and Millie Bright… who so nearly did with a thundering 40-yard strike. Fran Kirby is also in the squad.

Manchester City goalkeeper Karen Bardsley, Seattle Reign’s Jodie Taylor and Birmingham City striker Ellen White are back after injury.

Neville said: “We’re all really looking forward to meeting up for our first camp of 2019. After a well-earned break in December, most of the players are back in club action and will be ready to push on. The SheBelieves Cup is a demanding tournament with quality opposition. This training camp in Qatar is crucial for our preparation and an ideal opportunity for us to work as a group as we begin an important year.”
